Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for enterprise wide procurement program; to support, monitor and control procurement of facility related goods, delivery of contracted services and equipment (excluding technology). Develop and provide overall support to the social responsibility initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts and execute purchase orders required to support enterprise wide business initiatives. Monitor, analyze and recommend improvements to the procurement process from requisition through payment.
  • Audit, monitor and enforce the implementation of the purchasing policies. Review process, interpret and explain purchasing requirements to Eastern Bank departments’ enterprise wide. Recommend and initiate transactional process improvement between General Services and Accounts.
  • Direct Supervision for the Purchasing Administrator, including: direction and training specific to adherence to policy, protocols and procedures; conduct periodic reviews; manage overall performance including hiring and firing.
  • Manage the research of enterprise wide contracts ensuring compliance to the Eastern Bank finance requirements and vendor management program as well as tracking and reporting of contract milestones in the Cobblestone Database.
  • Corporate Responsibility
  • Creates processes and manages and reports on Eastern Bank’s corporate responsibility programs. This includes; event coordination, metrics collection and reporting for sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives.
  • Recommends enhancements to the Corporate Responsibility programs based on participation with outside groups and networking with leads of similar programs.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years directly related procurement experience
  • 2+ years supervisory experience

Skills/Knowledge

  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Knowledge of the principles of budgeting and procurement
  • Ability to analyze problems and adopt an effective course of action
  • Skilled in data management, spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, establish and execute priorities in order to maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Possess ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in implementing and interpreting department policies and procedures.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the Oracle System a plus
  • Familiar with an imaging system a plus
