Job Description

Job Description: The Behavior Adoption consultant will be engaged as an independent consultant who will provide support and technical expertise for the Pacific America Fund USAID Project coordinated in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) by the project management unit. The Consultant will be based in Pohnpei State. S/he will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Rare activities under the USAID PAF grant, focusing on the Behavior Adoption campaigns.

The specific responsibilities of the Independent Consultant include the following:

  • Support the implementation of Rare activities under the USAID PAF grant, focusing on the Behavior Adoption campaigns
  • Work closely with Consortium members to ensure alignment of implementation plans, schedule, budget, and strategy, and compliance to policies and requirements of MCT and the donor
  • Work closely with Rare support and central staff to ensure timely and sufficient technical support, and ensure risks or delays are mitigated
  • Prepare field workplans and monitor the progress of activities and budget against the workplan
  • Produce field reports and provide inputs to the program reviews and other communication needs that may arise
  • Supervise community members who will conduct the BA research
  • Mentor and provide technical support to community campaign teams

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in community development, social science, environmental science, project management or a related field
  • At least 2-5 years work experience on community development and/or project management; qualitative research experience is a bonus
  • With strong oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and any major languages spoken in the FSM is required
