Purpose of the role

To act as a driving force in the creation and delivery of the brand profile and corresponding materials, work across departments to support teams with their marketing and copywriting needs. To manage annual award submissions and proactively seek other partnerships and initiatives to boost International Medical Corps UK’s brand profile in the UK and Europe.

Key deliverables (Essential duties and responsibilities)

  • Be the Brand Ambassador for International Medical Corps UK, developing a suite of brand materials for both internal and external use and working across all departments to ensure that work is created on brand
  • Conduct a needs assessment of marketing materials for the organisation and support the implementation of creating identified materials
  • Lead on brand awareness initiatives including the research and creation of public-facing documents, identifying partnership opportunities and attending meetings with potential partners when required
  • Act as a trusted source of written materials of the highest quality for internal actors, including proofing reports, re-writing documents and advising on impact delivery measures –maintaining the Communications Team ‘zero-mistakes’ principle
  • Lead on internal communications initiatives including a monthly newsletter, coordinating the bi-annual staff conference and support HR with building momentum for staff events
  • Work with the Chief of Staff & Special Projects to identify and pursue partnership opportunities – for both brand awareness and fundraising purposes
  • Create a spreadsheet of awards opportunities for each financial year and develop a strategy for those awards the charity would benefit from entering.
  • Create and maintain templates for brand materials used for external and internal use such as presentation slides, funding proposals, letterhead etc.
  • Coordinate projects for donor recognition including acknowledging national days and religious events, supporting the Media & Communications Officer with visibility projects, etc.

  • Manage the image and audio visual desk
  • Ensure the delivery of consistent messaging and brand management throughout all external and internal communications, brand material and collateral.
  • Contribute to producing high quality, statements, articles, briefing materials and features material as well as other relevant content as required.
  • Maintain the department’s intranet page and ensure that the Communications files and documents are organised and accessible

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  1. A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  2. Experience in a similar role is essential
  3. Experience and skills in software design (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Picasa etc.) is essential
  4. Commitment to International travel if required
  5. Ability to provide or recommend solutions to problems; show flexibility to assume additional responsibilities
  6. Ability to work and contribute positively in a team
  7. Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with diverse constituencies including senior management
  8. Project management experience and skills, including the ability to set priorities, work to tight and competing deadlines
