GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU - funded tender: “ACP-EU PSD knowledge management Technical Support Function/PSD Light Structure (TSF)” in Brussels.

The purpose of this action is to provide technical and administrative support to the joint PSD platform in particular in collaboration with the PSD unit of the ACP Secretariat, and the EU side as well as, whereas available, any joint PSD coordination mechanisms regarding activities in relation to the above joint PSD framework.

This support is particularly directed towards enhancing PSD management functions, promoting ACP-EU PSD knowledge management and reinforcing an effective private sector engagement framework with learning and collaboration between key stakeholders.

Your tasks

The expert (m/f) will be permanently based in Brussels and will be responsible for matters related to business development and investment climate as well as value chains development.

Your profile

Qualifications and skills

• At least a master’s degree or equivalent in economics, business adminisfration, international law, international development, or a relevant, directly related discipline; Fluent in English or French; working knowledge of the other language; Good presentation skills.

General professional experience

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Business Development and investment climate, preferably in ACP countries;
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of value chains ; practical experience as to value chains in the ACP context would be an asset;
• At least 3 years of practical experience in managing EU funded progammes; practical experience in managing EU funded programmes related to investment climate and value chains in ACP countries would be an asset;
• Proven excellent drafting capacity in English or French.

Specific professional experience

• At least 5 years of providing technical assistance related to business development services, investment climate and value chains development (drafting terms of reference, guidelines, technical support/counselling, etc.);
• At least 3 years of experience working with trade and business associations in ACP and EU coüntries;
• Working experience in managing development projects dealing with value chains analysis, identifying bankable projects for investment and working to improve the investment climate, preferably in ACP countries.

The following additional experience is an asset:

• Experience of at least one year in management of commodities-based agricultural private sector programmes.

Assignment period

The assignment is expected to start in the course of 2017 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 48 months.
