Location: Yangon, Myanmar and remote

1. Finance and Control Consultants

Description

DAI is seeking consultants with expertise in Accounting, Financial Management and Control to support its USAID Responsible Investment and Trade Activity (the Activity) in Myanmar. The Activity aims to promote private sector civilian ownership of the Myanmar economy by increasing the share held by responsible, accountable, and transparent firms. It engages international and domestic private sector firms and civil society actors across multiple sectors to facilitate investment, trade, and business partnerships, and to strengthen regional economic integration, and improve business accountability, transparency, and competitiveness in Myanmar.

The consultants will support the Activity’s work in corporate governance, business transparency, competitiveness of firms, and capacity building. 2. Private Equity and Transaction Consultants

Description

DAI is seeking consultants with private equity and transaction experience to support a variety of private investment related tasks for its USAID Responsible Investment and Trade Activity (the Activity) in Myanmar. The Activity aims to promote private sector civilian ownership of the Myanmar economy by increasing the share held by responsible, accountable, and transparent firms. It engages international and domestic private sector firms and civil society actors across multiple sectors to facilitate investment, trade, and business partnerships, and to strengthen regional economic integration, and improve business accountability, transparency, and competitiveness in Myanmar.

Consultants with any of the following experience in emerging and developing countries are encouraged to submit their CV:

· Direct investment experience with a private equity/venture capital investment manager, family office or other investment firm

· Successful track record in middle market sell or buy-side transaction advisory

· Private capital fundraising

· Impact investment

· Private equity/venture capital advisory

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, finance, business, or other related fields.

· Experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate finance advisory, innovative/blended finance.

· Ideally with experience with international donor-funded projects, international finance institutions or development finance institutions is preferred.

· Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

3. Corporate Governance Consultants

Description

DAI seeks Corporate Governance Consultants with strong track records to support its USAID Responsible Investment and Trade Activity (the Activity) in Myanmar. The Activity aims to promote private sector civilian ownership of the Myanmar economy by increasing the share held by responsible, accountable, and transparent firms. It engages international and domestic private sector firms and civil society actors across multiple sectors to facilitate investment, trade, and business partnerships, and to strengthen regional economic integration, and improve business accountability, transparency, and competitiveness in Myanmar.

The Consultants will assist in improving domestic corporate governance, business transparency, and competitiveness of firms in Myanmar. Businesses need to build their capacity to improve corporate governance appropriate for their stage in growth:

· Start-up and early stage growth companies building the foundational basics of corporate governance

· Mid-growth—mainly family owned—SMEs transitioning from informal structures to formal ones

· Larger corporations adopting greater transparency in corporate governance through public records, publishing information online related to board of directors, governance structures, and annual reports

The Activity aims to strengthen the business ecosystem’s capacity in Myanmar to deliver higher-quality support services needed to improve domestic corporate governance, business transparency, and competitiveness at scale, with a strong focus on capacity building and transitioning to more sustainable business models. The Consultants may perform some or all of the following tasks:

Develop new or update existing knowledge products (e.g. scorecards, corporate governance code manual, training materials, etc.) that will support the Activity’s work to advance corporate governance best practices in Myanmar.

Work with a third-party training institute to be engaged by the Activity to develop and design corporate governance training materials and programs that are appropriate for businesses’ stage in growth.

Provide expert inputs to the team’s review of the concept notes to identify potential opportunities to strengthen corporate governance in the companies to be engaged by the Activity.

Design and deliver training activities, workshops, grants, and other technical assistance to raise awareness and to build the capacity of businesses, business associations, and chambers of commerce to improve corporate governance; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· At least a bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting, business, business law or other related fields.

· At least 10 years of experience working on corporate governance and directorship best practices and/or providing corporate governance advisory services.

· Expertise in any area of corporate governance including SME corporate governance

· Experience working with international donor-funded projects, international finance institutions or development finance institutions is preferred.

· Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
