Call for French/English/Russian/Portuguese Technical Interpreter
USP seeks consultants/vendors with expertise in one or more of the technical areas of interest below to be shortlisted for a candidate pool for potential future work in various countries throughout the Africa, Asia and Central Asia regions. Note that this is a general Call for Consultants to build a qualified applicant pool. This job posting does not guarantee employment. Consultants and firms who meet the outlined qualifications and skills listed below will be added to the USP Consultant Database for future potential engagement. Those selected to be added to the Consultant Database will be notified. This potential work would be completed under the guidance of USP’s Global Public Health (GPH) division. Applications may be made to one or more of the technical areas of interest, based on the consultant’s/vendor’s qualifications. Note that this is a remote role with possibility for travel. Scope of Work:
Provide simultaneous interpretation for virtual workshops and meetings
Provide simultaneous interpretation for field workshops and meetings
Provide interpretation, voice-overs for pre-recorded technical training videos
Deliverables:
Activity-based report to USP project manager
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in English Language (if native Francophone) or French, Portuguese, or Russian Language (if native Anglophone) or interpretation (French/Portuguese/Russian - English).
Experience:
Prior USAID experience and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred
At least 5 years professional experience doing simultaneous translation at international meetings/workshops related to medicines regulations, product quality, quality assurance and quality control.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Native French, Portuguese, or Russian speakers preferred
Must be proficient in English and possess excellent verbal skills
Must be proficient in French, Portuguese, or Russian and possess excellent verbal skills
Certified professional translator
Basic knowledge of medicines regulation and public health issues/threats.
High level of integrity and commitment to quality.
Conversant with virtual meeting platforms such as Webex, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft teams, Skype etc
Resident and ability to travel
