Job Description

A.Introduction

The Zambia Integrated HIV and Health Activity aims to improve health outcomes for Zambians through equitable access to high-quality, client-centered HIV, TB/HIV, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) services, products, and information. Integrated services, where possible, will reduce mortality, morbidity, and HIV transmission among populations in focus districts in Northwestern, Copperbelt, and Central Provinces.

The Project, led by Pact, is implemented with the local sub-partners, mothers2mothers (m2m), Circle of Hope (COH), and Wits Health Consortium. Pact and these partners work closely with the Department of State (DOS), the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ), and other stakeholders to provide both direct service delivery and technical assistance (TA) to increase local capacities at all levels across three core components:

Increasing coverage of comprehensive and client-centered HIV, TB/HIV, and MNCH prevention, diagnosis, care, and treatment services in communities and health facilities to reach and maintain 95-95 in focus districts.

Increasing utilization of community- and facility-based quality, person-centered, integrated HIV, TB/HIV, and MNCH services.

Strengthening capacities of the Provincial and District Health Offices (P/DHOs) to facilitate a gradual transition of direct service delivery and sustain quality integrated health services beyond activity implementation.

About the Organization

Pact's mission is to build empowered communities, effective governments and responsible private institutions that give people an opportunity for a better life. We do this by strengthening the capacity of organizations and institutions to be good service providers, represent their stakeholders, network with others for learning and knowledge sharing, and advocate for social, economic and environmental justice. Interdependence, responsible stewardship, inclusion of vulnerable groups, and respect for local ownership and knowledge are core values across all of our programs. Currently Pact implements over 100 projects in 46 countries in Asia, Eurasia, Africa, Latin America and The Caribbean with field offices in 26 countries. Most of our project activities target one of five program sectors: democracy and governance, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, natural resource management and peace building. Institutional and organizational strengthening is built into nearly all of our projects. Signature cross-cutting approaches include advocacy, information for development and knowledge management, network strengthening, and organizational development. In addition to project implementation, Pact has over 33 years of grants management experience stemming from its original role as the grants administration arm of the United States Agency for International Development Office of Private Voluntary Cooperation. In the past 17 years, Pact has managed more than $350 million in subgrants on behalf of many donor organizations.
