The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for a Camp Management Technical Coordinator with overall responsibility for harmonizing DRC’s approach to camp and site management in South Sudan and providing technical support to Camp Managers.

Since the outbreak of violence in South Sudan in December 2013, fighting has continued despite several attempts at a peace agreement.
Currently 1.66 million people have been displaced from their homes and tens of thousands killed. 179,000 Civilians are currently seeking refuge inside UNMISS bases across the country. DRC has been working, since the start of the crisis, providing camp management in three locations, Bentiu in Unity State, Malakal and Melut in Upper Nile State. In addition to this DRC is managing refugee camps in Ajoung Thok, Unity State and Maban, Upper Nile State.
About the job
Reporting to the Deputy Country Director - Programme, the Camp Management Technical Coordinator will support the 5 Camp Managers to ensure high quality camp management programme and share experiences, lessons learned and good practices across sites. The Camp Management Technical Coordinator will support the roll out and strengthening of communication and complaints mechanisms, and improved accountability to beneficiaries.
The Camp Management Technical Coordinator will attend the national CCCM cluster and relevant working groups, ensuring information flow to and from field sites. The Camp Management Technical Coordinator will provide technical advice as required and troubleshoot issues arising in camp management. The incumbent will also coordinate and lead on strategy development.

We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a one year contract with a three month probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work immediately and be willing and able to work in the field, in comfortable but basic accommodation. The position is at A10 in DRC’s salary scale.
