AVPN is hiring a Capital Mobilisation Intern to assist with managing the Philanthropic Funds. You will gain unparalleled exposure to the growing social investment sector, the impactful work of leading organisations, and AVPN’s network of members. While some tasks may involve the necessary data coordination or logistical prep, you’ll be directly enabling millions of dollars in social change and building the capacity of high-potential organisations across Asia Pacific.
You will report directly to the Manager/Senior Manager, Capital Mobilisation, and should be available for a period of 3-6 months, starting immediately.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do: Your Mission & Impact
This role gives you a powerful opportunity to build skills in strategy, stakeholder management, and data analysis by directly supporting our capacity building programmes and philanthropic fund management.
Your tasks will include:
- Fueling Philanthropic Funds - Funding Real Change: You will be instrumental in the full grant lifecycle—from identifying and researching potential grantee orgs and drafting initial concepts to communicating directly with grantees, collecting crucial data and feedback, supporting the team in putting together decks, reports, concept notes for funders and supporting the grantee management.
- Organising Capacity Building Activities - Empowering Leaders: Co-design and execute high-value educational programs (webinars, workshops, business clinics) led by expert AVPN members. You will help leaders in the social sector level up their skills.
- Strategic Resource Management- Matching Need with Opportunity: Identify and nominate relevant organisations for grants, funding, and non-financial resources.
- Communications and Engagement : Develop strategic content—including blogs, external articles, newsletters, and social media materials—that showcase the tangible impact of our funds and capacity-building work.
- Data Strategy and Analysis- Driving Evidence-Based Decisions): Move beyond simple data entry. Assist in analysing data related to program effectiveness, platform usage, and philanthropic funds, ensuring our initiatives are data-driven and maximise impact and efficiency.
- Event Support- Connecting the Ecosystem: Provide crucial logistical and session curation support for AVPN’s signature global events, such as the AVPN Regional Summits.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and an open-minded approach
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Competence in collecting, collating, and presenting information clearly and perceptively
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and well-organized
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
- Strong written and spoken English
- Preferred: Prior experience or background in social entrepreneurship or impact-related work
