Devex is assisting a technology company in its search for a French-speaking Chief of Party for an anticipated multimillion dollar USAID-funded project (4 years of funding). This role would ideally be based in Burkina Faso but can also be located in Niger.
Our client will provide a mobile service to allow users in West Africa to earn income via their phones through crowdsourced tasks and surveys. The mobile platform will also enable NGOs and Donors to reach users in Niger and Burkina Faso with relevant content and messaging, with users being rewarded for engaging with the content. The company works with a number of the world’s largest mobile operators and the size of their userbase is in the millions. They are looking at expanding their operations to the West Africa region, particularly in Niger and Burkina Faso. The company is backed by 5 leading venture capital firms and the team has previously worked at a number of leading technology businesses.
ROLE:
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall leadership, management, and general technical direction for the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among diverse components and actors, and focusing on achieving the desired results.
Primary responsibilities will include: 1) efficient management of financial resources, including the review and approval of program budgets and monitoring expenditures; 2) supervision of field operations, helping to form partnerships with local and international NGOs and who are active in the region, administration, logistics and procurement; 3) management, delivery, supervision of program monitoring, evaluation, and 4) reporting and ensure quality control and timeliness of all deliverables as required by the donors.
S/he will ensure full compliance with all USAID, and other fiduciary regulations and will oversee project reporting process in line with donor requirements. S/he will supervise project staff including professional performance management and coaching.
