World Learning, a global non-profit organization, (www.worldlearning.org) has an immediate opening for a Chief of Party for the USAID-funded “Local Capacity Development (LCD)” Program, pending award. Expected duration: 5 years. Successful candidates are expected to live in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and travel regularly throughout the Country. Position Title: Chief of Party, LCD Project in Ethiopia
Reports to: Divisional Vice President for Education and Capacity Development, IDEP World Learning, Washington D.C.
Supervises: M&E Manager and other Ethiopia based staff as well as international and local consultants
The Local Capacity Development (LCD) project will provide USAID/Ethiopia with a set of interventions aimed at strengthening Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Ethiopia that are recipients of direct USAID awards most of which were in response to Local Capacity Development Annual Program Statements. The project will address key capacity development gaps that limit the effectiveness of NGOs to achieve sustainable and significant impact, be accountable to its constituents, and be able to effectively compete for and manage donor resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Chief of Party will reside in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will be responsible for overall project management, including providing technical support and facilitating partnerships with stakeholders throughout the country. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
