TSC is an organization of diverse global participants that work collaboratively to build a scientific foundation that drives innovation to improve consumer product sustainability. TSC convenes these diverse stakeholders to work collaboratively to build science-based decision tools that address sustainability issues that are materially important throughout a product’s supply chain and lifecycle. TSC boasts over 100 members from manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, service providers, NGOs, civil society organizations, governmental agencies and academics.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will play the lead role in developing new business opportunities and fundraising with potential founders (like Government related funds and corporation Foundations). The China BD manager will work with the TSC China Country Director to manage a diverse portfolio of work, all focusing on helping to develop local models to promote the Sustainable Supply Chain and Sustainability Management Reporting System. The role is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with TSC current members of sustainability community, including MNCs, NGO, academics, government representatives and other relevant organizations. The manager will report to the TSC Managing Director of Greater China and liaise with other relevant directors in TSC headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Fund-raising from governments and private foundations, including building relationships, developing ideas/framework with RFP, proposal writing and securing the funds 2. Business development of green supply chain opportunities (e.g. like SPF, CCFA, TGCC) and then program management of the new partnerships and programs 3. Project management of implementation projects with individual companies 4. Developing and offering services and support to TSC existing members with operations and/or supply chains in China 5. Recruitment of businesses as TSC Members 6. Convening management: Plan, execute and deliver key Industries/topical working group convening 7. Liaise with TSC global Research/Implementation team and provide TSC SMRS & Toolkits content support for local research and capacity building programs. 8. Participate in TSC program planning and strategic development, generally for the organization, and specifically for Asia
QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE: Candidates with these specific requirements will be considered:
  1. At least Bachelor’s degree; Masters degree, PHD or MBA preferred
2. Minimum 2 years management experience leading projects focusing on stakeholder engagement and particular member services; 3. Strong familiarity with Product sustainability reporting systems or Green Supply Chain activities 4. Business experience, including extensive knowledge of decision-making processes, operational issues, sourcing and supply chain process, particular in the consumer products, Information Communication Technology or automobile industries 5. Fluent English speaking and written skills; Mandarin speaking and reading/written preferred 6. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet stringent deadlines, communicate progress on projects or event planning, and work with managers to coordinate multiple projects concurrently; 7. Proven desire for creative business development and entrepreneurship; 8. Excellent interpersonal skills, for working with both internal and external clients; 9. Willingness to stay in Tian Jin, China for a minimum two year agreement;
