Project Summary:

Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening Activity is designed to strengthen accountability systems, procedures, and mechanisms within the Government of Jordan and judicial institutions and enhance their ability to serve and communicate effectively with the public. It also fosters awareness and pressure by civil society organizations, the public, and the private sector on the government’s adherence to the law and its international commitments to govern in an accountable manner that safeguards the rights of vulnerable populations.

Position Summary:

The Civil Society Organization (CSO) Officer will be a part of the Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening Activity (PAJ) Program in Jordan and will carry out duties designed to meet the objectives of the project. The CSO Officer will serve as the capacity building coordinator under the supervision of Component 3 Team leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support trainings and capacity building activities for CSOs.
  • Support activities to build CSO capacity to monitor and evaluate the impact of government actions.
  • Liaise with local grantees and counterparts as required to facilitate technical activities and data collection, and reporting.
  • Contribute to preparing and updating annual and quarterly work plans.
  • Contribute to the needed reports to document the progress and achievements.
  • Attend meetings and planning sessions for project implementation and write up minutes of meeting.
  • Ensure that all activities are well communicated and coordinated among different relevant personnel within the project.
  • Carry out any duty that is assigned by the Component Leader.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or relevant field is required.
  • Minimum five years of experience in project management or any relevant discipline required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse counterparts, staff and consultants.
  • Prior experience engaging with Jordanian CSOs, justice institutions, and private sector entities highly preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English required.
