• Analyse state-level public finance systems, climate budgets, and funding gaps to support programme strategy

Stakeholder Coordination

• Support meeting preparation, manage follow-ups, and track progress on key deliverables
• Ensure structured documentation, communication, and timely information flow across all partners involved in programme development

• Recent graduate or final-year student in Finance, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, or related fields
• Demonstrated interest in finance through projects, coursework, internships, or research assignments
• Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to develop structured documents
• Comfort with stakeholder coordination, follow-ups, and managing multiple tasks in parallel
• Proficiency in analytical and productivity tools such as MS Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and the ability to work with datasets and policy documents
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain high attention to detail
• Ability to synthesise complex information and translate it into actionable insights for programme teams
• Familiarity with geospatial or modelling tools (e.g., QGIS, SimaPro for LCA, or similar platforms) will be considered an added advantage
• Experience or comfort with analytical or research software such as R, Stata, or other statistical tools will be an added advantage

Preferred Experience (Good to Have)
• Prior internship or academic project in climate finance, sustainable development, or government engagement
• Familiarity with India’s climate policy landscape and public finance systems
• Experience preparing presentations, concept notes, or research briefs

What You Will Gain

• Hands-on experience of working at the PMU level, coordinating seamlessly with government departments and senior stakeholders to drive mitigation-focused programmes and ensure alignment across policy, finance, and implementation
• Experience working on high-level climate convenings and producing knowledge products
• Mentorship from AVPN’s climate team and opportunity to contribute to the flagship clean growth initiative
• Opportunities to work with climate funders, philanthropic partners, and senior sectoral experts in India’s climate ecosystem
• Potential to contribute to published knowledge products and policy papers
