BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is a United Nations agency working for food security and nutrition. In Venezuela, WFP’s activities include school feeding programs, livelihoods, climate emergency preparedness and response, and capacity building for national actors. The Communications Unit ensures that this work is visible and contributes to generating dialogue around WFP’s mission in the country.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Communications Associate (editorial, content, and media), the Communications Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
1. Produce audiovisual material that supports the commitments established between WFP and its main donors.
2. Ensure visual and narrative consistency, as well as the application of the WFP brand, of audiovisual materials produced in Venezuela.
3. Manage, produce, and post-produce audiovisual communication materials. This includes frequent travel to the locations where WFP activities are carried out in Venezuela.
4. Maintain a constant focus on ways to improve and innovate in the country office’s audiovisual content.
5. Ensure that all produced materials (b-roll, interviews, videos, and edited photos, with their corresponding informed consents) are correctly identified, archived, and available in a timely manner for use on the different platforms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: University degree in Social Communication, Journalism, Visual Communication, or related fields.
Experience : 5 years of experience in photography, audiovisual production, and related fields.
Skills: Proficiency in professional photography and video software (Adobe and similar).
Languages: Fluent in spoken and written Spanish. Basic and intermediate English skills are desirable.
