Job Summary

As a member of the Global Supply Chain Management Unit’s (GSCM) Knowledge Management and Learning (KML) team, the Communications Specialist would help drive awareness and understanding of GSCM policies, processes, and supply chain best practices, in addition to communicating important information about GSCM’s portfolio of services and major initiatives. The Communications Specialist is responsible for the ideation, production, dissemination, management, and impact measurement of high-quality communications to CRS staff globally.

This position requires a digitally savvy individual who works well in a team setting and can pick up on communications needs (both stated and unstated) while engaging with different sub-teams in the GSCM Unit and the stakeholders we work with.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement GSCM’s communications strategy, acting as the lead on digital campaigns from inception to delivery with a focus on clear and accessible content
• Coordinate the delivery of messaging from GSCM and other CRS teams, working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs)
• Analyze communications metrics to assess the reach and effectiveness of communications efforts
• Manage the GSCM SharePoint page and sub-pages, using metadata to allow users to sort and filter for documents quickly and intuitively
• Manage the translation of GSCM’s materials, ensuring that when English materials are revised, translations are properly updated and placed on SharePoint
• Use CRS’ communication existing channels (email, Yammer, Teams, SharePoint, Campaign Monitor) to regularly share information with staff
• Ensure all updates to supply chain policies and procedures are appropriately communicated to CRS staff along with any relevant learning events and materials available to strengthen staff understanding of supply chain best practice
• Create visually impactful content to be shared during stakeholder meetings (Country Representatives, Deputy Regional Director- Management Quality, Insight Leads, Communities of Practice, etc.)
• Act as a resource to GSCM, regional, and country program to encourage the use of formal and informal channels to amplify key messaging and peer-to-peer collaboration
• Support the creation and consistent use of the GSCM unit brand both visually and narratively, which must complement/align with overall CRS branding
• Contribute to cross-team meetings, planning sessions, and editorial processes
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, particularly an ability to make complex topics easily understood
• Demonstrated writing, editing and production skills required as well as a journalistic ability to source stories from staff
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to details and process
• Ability to work well across departments and country programs; build and strengthen relationships in a multi-cultural environment
• Team player who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to learn and utilize new technology quickly
• Creative, positive, and communicative
• Good judgment about involving others in decision making

Required Language Skills: English

Desired Language Skills: French, Spanish, and/or Arabic

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, International Development or related field
• Minimum of 5 years progressive responsibility in a work setting
• Proficient in software packages, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
• Photography, videography, social media, graphic design skills a plus
