Position Summary:

CRDF Global is seeking a Technical Advisors to deploy to Erbil for a term of up to 24 months to provide technical advice and assistance to Kurdish civilian law enforcement services. Advisors will work to embed with their respective units and provide daily, onsite training and mentoring to investigators. Advisors will ensure that Kurdish partners have the necessary equipment, knowledge, and skills to effectively respond to critical incidents, including those caused by explosives-laden UAS.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience training law enforcement and military personnel
  • 8+ years of experience with Explosive Ordnance Disposal
  • Understanding of Kurdistan Regional Government and Government of Iraq
  • Experience deploying as part of a training team
  • Experience with embedded operations, preferably in Iraq or Kurdistan
  • Ability to live in Erbil for up to 24 months (October 2022 – October 2024)
  • Graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal Certification or equivalent
  • Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge Certification or equivalent
  • EOD Operator qualified
  • IEDD Operator qualified
  • IED Electronics qualified
  • Forensic/Weapons Technical Intelligence experience
  • Instructor qualified
  • Served as a trainer at a recognized EOD training school
  • Experience of the Iraq/KRG area of operations
  • Experienced in the use of translators and interpreters
  • Experienced in the development of EOD/IEDD training curriculum
  • Experienced in conducting the exploitation of recovered IED material
  • Experienced in the use of specialist explosive detection equipment
  • Operational experience within the Mine Action arena
  • Fluent in English
  • Kurdish and/or Arabic language proficiency preferred but not required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in curriculum training development
  • Experience as a Military Instructor
  • Experience with evidence handling, chain of evidence, and evidence storage
  • Experience with explosive-related investigations
