As a Coordinator, Community Health , you will be responsible for the coordination of the delivery of Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) services in the designated area of Prince Edward Island, managing volunteer resources and performing day to day administrative activities, in collaboration with the Provincial Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement promotion strategies to support, assist with the maintenance of effective and efficient operational procedures, quality assurance standards, reporting systems and controls, to ensure the proper and consistent delivery of Health Equipment Loan Program.
  • Maintain accurate records on loans, returns, inventory, statistics, equipment repairs and purchases and follow-up with clients to ensure safety standards are being met.
  • Be responsible for volunteer recruitment initiatives to achieve set targets within an assigned geographic area.
  • Ensure completion of onboarding, orientation, training, review and recognition, coaching, mentoring and performance management activities for volunteer resources in collaboration with the People Services team
  • Ensure volunteer time reporting is submitted to Shared Services as well as communicate any necessary record updates to Shared Services that are required within Raiser’s Edge.
  • Ensure financial transactions, banking, deposits, and Departmental Receipt Analysis (DRA) are completed respecting society policies.
  • Ensure care and caution is exercised with all Red Cross vehicles including timely submission of all log sheets and proper coverage of the reception desk within the Service Center.
  • Participate and promote completion of mandatory health and safety education/orientation, complete safety audits, ensure all near-misses and incidents, and concerns of PPE non compliance are promptly and accurately reported to Supervisor or designate.

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of post-secondary education / diploma in a health-related field with 1-3 years of work experience / combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel within province and a satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English is mandatory. Fluency in French is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple issues simultaneously, decision making, organisational skills in a complex client-based environment.
  • Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience working with volunteers, seniors, and the ability to supervise is considered an asset.

Working conditions:

  • The majority of the work is performed in an Office environment and require flexibility to travel between the sites.
  • This position required ability to moderate to heavy lifting (75-100 lbs.)
