NOTICE OF VACANCY

KfW is a German Development Bank with a well-established presence in Mozambique. On behalf of the German Federal Government and other sponsors, KfW finances investments and accompanying advisory services in development and transition countries.

In 2014 the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME) under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Mozambique has introduced a Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff (REFiT) Regulation to incentivize private investments in the Mozambican energy sector. Among other stakeholders, KfW has developed the Global Energy Transfer Feed in Tariff (GET FiT) Programme, which aims to fast-track the development of smaller renewable energy generation projects through a comprehensive set of tools, including tariff viability gap funding, targeted technical assistance, risk mitigation against off-taker risk, and renewable grid intervention support. MIREME has requested financial assistance from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the Government of the United Kingdom (BEIS) which will be channeled through KfW to undertake a feasibility study, which will investigate legal, technical and financial viability and develop a programme concept, financing structure and technical assistance facility for Mozambique. Coordinator for the GET FiT Programme in Mozambique

The coordinator will be based in Maputo. The main purpose of the position is to facilitate communication between the Mozambican authorities and key stakeholders, and to coordinate all necessary activities in Mozambique to bring GET FiT Mozambique forward.

The tasks of the Coordinator will include:

• Coordinating communication and cooperation with government authorities and relevant institutions in the energy sector in Mozambique;
• Marketing GET FiT Mozambique and liaising with IPPs, potential financiers, donors and other stakeholder;
• Accompanying the feasibility study and providing input to the further development of GET FiT Mozambique;
• Supporting procurement of the GET FiT Secretariat and Fast-Track Auction for Solar PV in preparation of GET FiT Mozambique;
• Reporting to KfW and MIREME on a regular basis.

In order to do justice to the indicated performance areas the prospective candidate will need to meet the following minimum requirements (to be specifically and conclusively indicated in your CV):

• 5 years of professional experience in the energy sector;
• Proven analytical skills and ability to work independently;
• Working experience in the private sector and in the field of renewable energies is desirable;
• Knowledge about project financing (including risk mitigation) as well as experience in developing countries and Sub-Sahara Africa are a plus;
• Fluent in Portuguese and very good English writing and speaking skills.
