About the role

Cardno ID is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to support our global International Development business. Based in our corporate office in Manila, the Corporate Paralegal will bring related experience and strong attributes to this role. You will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various client contracts and subcontracts, communicating the review comments and contract exceptions to project managers and associated staff. The successful applicant will also work closely with Project Managers and Legal Group staff to establish and implement policies and procedures related to contract reviews, contract filing, and overall functionality of the contracts management function.

Further responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Seeking additional information from staff related to contract details, associated scope, and potential risks.
  • Review of exceptions to Cardno standard contract terms
  • Monitoring contract extensions and renewal of contacts
  • Problem solving contract related issues
  • Providing guidance and assistance to business units on legal risks (in conjunction with ID Legal Counsel)
  • Provide guidance and assistance to business division(s) in proposal and prequalification requests.
  • Following up with Project Managers to obtain fully-executed contracts.
  • Electronic filing of contract documents in database.
  • Other tasks in support of the Legal Group
  • Provides support to internal business units according to assigned geographical region or area of expertise.
  • Take an active role in departmental projects that arise
  • Creating and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Participates in cross- functional teams within the Company.
  • Other corporate assistance as requested.

About you

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key essential attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and resourceful.
  • Desire and ability to quickly acquire knowledge and new skills on the job.
  • Solid time management and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage individuals and multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to balance pursuit of good contract terms with reality of business demands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.
  • Must possess a professional manner to ensure successful interaction with co-workers, clients, subcontractors and managers at all levels.
  • Experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and use common sense to make decisions.

Desirable

  • Contract database management experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing needs of the team.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Self-motivated and confident with strong initiative.
  • Ability to balance pursuit of good contract terms with reality of business demands.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and use common sense to make decisions.
