Job Description

Due to continuing expansion, we are anticipating a number of Country Representative and Country Director positions to arise over the next few months across a range of existing MAG programmes worldwide. We expect at least one of these positions to be within a French speaking location, therefore would encourage bilingual speakers to apply.

About the role:

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Country Director/Representative will be MAG’s most senior representative in country, responsible for leading the country programme, implementing existing projects and developing new business, in compliance with contractual obligations and MAG’s mission and mandate. Country Director/Representative positions are varied and busy roles, requiring both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement to ensure the delivery of day-to-day operations. Responsibilities will include contract management, donor liaison, people management, business development, security, capacity building and risk management.

About you:

This is not a technical role and previous experience in the mine action sector is not required. Experienced managers from all development sectors are encouraged to apply. To succeed in these roles, you will need previous experience managing projects from project design to contract delivery within post-conflict environments, including experience developing new business. You will also need experience in managing concurrent projects, funded by multiple grants, within complex internal and political frameworks. You will also have experience leading programmes in challenging security environment and the ability to manage support functions including HR, administration, logistics and finance. French language skills beneficial for some positions.
