As Data Cleansing Lead, the successful candidate will play an integral role in improving the quality of Human Appeal’s operational data. They will focus on the complete data quality cycle, from logging and auditing the receipt of data, to ensuring the data available for analysis and reporting is of the highest quality. This process of ensuring our data is accurate and useful will increase the efficiency of our internal processes, and thus improve our offering to our donors, helping Human Appeal to maintain their support and continue its growth. We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Data Cleansing Lead:
• Review Human Appeal’s current data processes, and re-write and/or develop new policies and processes to govern future data management at HA
• Acting as Project Lead, supervising a Data Cleansing Officer, and managing a project to cleanse all current Human Appeal data, with a specific focus on data relating to Human Appeal donors and HA’s orphan sponsorship programme
• Maintaining records by administrating regular database cleansing, fulfilling data requests and supporting the Donor Care / Fundraising / Orphans team with extensive data requirements
• Updating systems to reflect accurate information and support the Donor Care / Systems / Finance / Programmes / Fundraising / Communications team to process and maintain this information
What we’re looking for in our Data Cleansing Lead:
• Ideally educated to Degree level (or equivalent experience) in applied quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, engineering, technology)
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a similar role, with previous experience of Data Sourcing and Data Cleansing
• At least 2 years’ experience as a team / project lead
• Experience of using databases, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong awareness of GDPR and confidentiality
• Skilled with several of the following: Excel & Salesforce
• The ability to use specific Excel functions including VLookup and Pivot tables
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, are desirable
• Ideally passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
