Job Description

Overview

Database Coordinator will directly support Jhpiego’s fundraising efforts by serving as the subject expert of Raiser’s Edge. This position is responsible for gift entry, generating reports for development and finance departments, database administration, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Database and Systems Management

  • Manage Raiser’s Edge donor database including data entry and clean-up of records, report generation, solicitor tracking of donor
  • Develop reporting tools and administer pledge reminder schedule for all contributed gifts
  • Review current systems and lead efforts to improve work flow and overall support as fundraising efforts grow in scale and complexity of gifts pledged and received
  • Lead the department’s ongoing efforts to maintain accurate and complete donor records in the database. Ensure confidentiality of constituents’ information
  • Utilize peer-to-peer fundraising software, Team Raiser, to create and manage online fundraising platforms and track special event contributions where applicable
  • Collaborate with communications team to create new team pages as needed for new campaigns
  • Create and manage events in Raiser’s Edge Events module to ensure proper accounting of pledged and completed donations, track attendance, and create and manage dashboards to track progress over goal
  • Provide database support and training for staff

Report Development and Generation

  • Analyze and track giving with weekly and monthly reports, confirming and reconciling with development team members and with the finance department
  • Generate donor activity reports
  • Design queries for development functions, including, but not limited to newsletters, invitations, mailings, and eblasts
  • Create, run, and export data as needed for internal analysis or reporting
  • Create program and event mailing lists used for electronic and print mailings
  • Produce donor lists for publications including annual reports

Gift Processing

  • Process gifts including matching gifts, pledges and pledge payments, fundraising events
  • Ensure that cash receipts, stock, bequests, and in-kind gifts are recorded and acknowledged in a timely manner and coded accurately
  • Manage event module for development activities and events

Research

  • Lead donor prospecting efforts for the team using available software and prospect management techniques to help build pipeline
  • Research and analyze prospects, as well as qualify new donors
Required Qualifications
  • BA with 3+ years’ experience in nonprofit development and database management
  • Proficient understanding of database management systems and web-based fundraising platforms
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online is strongly preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills are necessary
  • Advanced user of Excel and Microsoft Office programs required
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and multi-task
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, writing, database/computer, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, creative and deadline-oriented environment
