POSITION MANDATE

Under the Management and Agency Priorities (MAP) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), Resonance supports USAID’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA). To further this work, we are looking for a senior-level professional with expertise in change management, preferably with experience supporting change initiatives related to DEIA. The consultant will support the rollout of a variety of initiatives that USAID’s DEIA Office is championing. The consultant will serve as an expert advisor on the process of change management. They will facilitate strategic conversations, help teams to establish their goals, and provide specific guidance and support to teams leading change efforts.

We are recruiting for a short-term, full-time consultancy with a possibility to extend.

OUTCOMES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide change management best practices expertise  
  • Develop and deliver change management communications messaging
  • Plan, design, and present change plans for specific initiatives
  • Develop communications products related to the change
  • Provide leadership coaching to USAID team members
  • Design and lead workshops 
  • Develop and deliver presentations
  • Capture and communicate success stories
  • Additional tasks as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant master’s degree in International Development, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or other relevant field
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • Experience leading change initiatives in large organizations
  • Prior experience with USAID and knowledge of its structure and operations
  • Prior experience with DEIA initiatives
  • Ability to effectively manage tight deadlines and demonstrate flexibility to evolving project needs;
  • Demonstrated client relations track record; and
  • Ready to apply change management expertise in an entrepreneurial, fun, and fast paced environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Professional change management certification such as
    • PROSCI ADKAR, or other CM/OD methodologies, frameworks, etc.
  • Professional coaching certification from ICF or other organization

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent communication, oral and written
  • Ability to operate with minimal direction
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly shifting environment
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables, including written documents, on an agreed timetable
  • Team-oriented and collaborative professional
  • Proven track record of success that can be verified by professional references

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

Travel may be expected for some assignments but largely this is envisioned to be a remote role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

As a part of the responsibilities for this job, the employee is required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information orally and in writing with others. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting at a desk for prolonged periods, move or traverse inside the office and facilities; operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position computers and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, furniture, and computer printer. The employee must be able to make substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 15lbs at times.
