Position Description:
The Deputy Director of Technology Infrastructure will work closely with the Director of Integrated Technology in leading the Integrated Technology Team by comprehensively managing and monitoring the technology infrastructure of the organization through vendor relationships, team and staff development, and project management.
This position will support the long-term and day-to-day technology needs; act as an essential intermediary between employees and technology while proactively leading and supporting technology projects and aligning organizational needs with technology support initiatives.
A portion of time will be spent working with Community Change’s sister organization, Community Change Action.
Principal Responsibilities:
Strategic Technology Infrastructure Management
- Ensure operational excellence of Community Change/Action’s technology infrastructure, analyze and determine current and future infrastructure technology and security needs to support both maintainability and scalability in the form of an infrastructure roadmap.
- Maintain working knowledge and developments of technology systems and applications, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies, proactively make recommendations as necessary.
- Lead all Technology Infrastructure projects to ensure alignment in delivery, time and budget.
- Collaborate with the Director of Integrated Technology, managed service provider, and relevant vendors to identify appropriate and safe products and services; proactively make recommendations as necessary.
Oversee Enterprise Information Security and Governance
- Monitor all IT Operations, security systems and overall health of the Community Change computing environments.
- Design and implement organization cyber security and anti phishing programs.
- Monitor policy compliance and audit policies and controls continuously.
- Report relevant metrics and KPIs related to information security on a periodical basis.
Organization Technology Change Management
- Plan, develop and implement technology change management efforts.
- Lead staff training on organizational wide used technology, e.g., Google, Slack, Zoom.
- Convey relevant technology related information in a timely manner via appropriate channels.
Vendor Relationships and Project Management
- Supervise technology support role(s) as created and new projects as developed.
- Supervision coverage for Director of Integrated Technology when out of office
- Manage and supervise contractual obligations of managed service security provider (MSSP) and serve as intermediary between MSSP and staff, ensuring successful communication, support, and project management.
- Lead vendor contract management as it pertains to Technology Infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, enforce, and maintain technology related policies and procedures.
- Accountable for staff on-boarding and off-boarding process as it pertains to Technology.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of progressing technology management experiences and increasing responsibilities in project management.
- 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced non-profit, and ideally progressive/social change organizing/advocacy organization preferred
- High proficiency and experience with Windows based computers and the use of Microsoft Office/Office 365 programs, high proficiency with Google, Slack, Zoom, and desire to learn other platforms.
- Sound judgment and decision making. Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and resolve them quickly.
- Initiative and proven ability to work well with people at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize time and workload to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure, be flexible and implement problem resolution.
- Strong attention to detail. Ability to review work for quality and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely and in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

This position report to: Director of Integrated Technology
Classification: Community Change recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is not included in Community Change’s bargaining unit therefore not covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
COVID-19 Requirements: Community Change requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (within six weeks after the start of employment) unless a medical or religious exemption or other exemption allowed under applicable law is requested and approved. All offers of employment are contingent on compliance with this requirement. An employee will be considered fully vaccinated once (i) two weeks have elapsed since after the employee has received the final dose of a primary COVID vaccine series (e.g., two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, two doses of the Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine) and (ii) the employee has received any booster vaccine dose currently recommended by the CDC for those in the employee’s age group. Should the CDC subsequently recommend additional boosters or should an employee otherwise become newly subject to a CDC booster recommendation, an employee shall continue to be considered fully vaccinated if the employee gets the additional booster within one month of the change.
Travel Requirements: Pending the lift of the travel restriction, approximately 5% travel is required for this role.
Salary & benefits: The starting salary range for this position is $100,000, commensurate with experience. Community Change also offers an excellent benefits package, which includes 4 weeks of annual paid vacation; additional paid holiday leave between December 24 and January 1; 8% employer contribution to retirement account after six months of employment (and 3% employer contribution for the first 6 months); and a choice of generous health insurance plans.
