Job Description

  • Serve as the in-country technical contact for laboratory, providing insights on
    government policies, changes, and key stakeholders related to the TB
    diagnostics lab network in Kyrgyzstan.
    • Provide guidance based on in-country/regional knowledge to adapt TB diagnostics
      network strengthening interventions to local beneficiaries and context.
    • Assess laboratory performance and infrastructure needs and facilitate the
      development of an improvement plan to align with WHO TB diagnosis
      guidelines, including quality management and biosafety protocols.
    • Develop capacity of the laboratory staff to draft and update the standard operating
      procedures (SOPs) for TB diagnostic tests and workflows to adhere to the
      WHO guidelines
    • Develop capacity of the laboratory staff to train their staff on TB diagnostics
      and biosafety procedures
    • Facilitate cooperation between public and
      private laboratories to optimize diagnostic services
    • Advise on supply chain for laboratory consumables as well as tapping into global
      service level agreements for procurements
    • Advise on strengthening transportation to improve turnaround time (TAT) through
      route optimization
    • Support lab optimization, machine and capacity placement, policy, governance, and
      transport systems
    • Attend and represent USP technical team on key stakeholders’ meetings as and when
      requested.
    • Facilitate technical discussions and lead engagement (on site or virtually) with the
      stakeholders on assessments, plans,
      trainings, reviews, etc.
    • Review and provide feedback on technical and programmatic briefs, reports, memo,
      and any other written document.
    • Actively problem solve and provide alternatives to facilitate technical and
      programmatic implementation and
      overcome challenges.
    • Support any other ad-hoc technical activities that needs the in-country
      contextualization.
