Support the digitalization efforts within UNRWA as part of the Digital Acceleration section within DITID.
Report to senior technical leads and work closely with the Head of Software Development and Architecture.
Coordinate inputs on digitalization efforts agency-wide and collate/analyze information pertaining to UNRWA’s Digital Transformation.
Analyze existing processes, identify areas for digital transformation, and assist in developing and implementing digital solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist in conducting assessments of current processes and workflows to identify opportunities for digital transformation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop digital transformation strategies.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation relevant to UNRWA’s mandate.
Support the design and implementation of digital solutions, including process automation, data analytics, and digital platforms.
Contribute to the documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices related to digital transformation initiatives.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented digital solutions, collect feedback, and recommend improvements.
Support communication efforts related to digital transformation projects, including preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials as needed.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Must be a student enrolled in or recently completed (within one year of graduation) a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent) or the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level).
Relevant fields include Digital Transformation, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields.
Strong interest in digital transformation, innovation, and technology trends.
Familiarity with digital tools and technologies, such as process automation platforms, data analytics tools, and cloud computing services.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Students enrolled in or recently completed relevant degree programmes as described above.
No prior professional work experience is required, but computer literacy and familiarity with relevant tools is desirable.
Conditions of Service
The Intern will be based at UNRWA HQ in Amman, Jordan.
Duration of contract: up to 6 months, with possible extension subject to need and performance.
Full-time interns may be absent two working days per month with prior authorization; part-time interns have no compensatory entitlement for official holidays outside their schedule.
Interns are not entitled to benefits, payment, subsidy, or compensation; adequate insurance coverage must be provided by the intern.
