Position Overview:
The Director, Knowledge Management and Learning Strategy (DKMLS) is responsible for designing, implementing, and communicating knowledge management and learning strategy and initiatives based on evolving business needs. The DKMLS will continually work across the organization to identify and resolve knowledge-related issues and promote knowledge sharing through existing operational processes and systems. The DKMLS will also aim to create intuitive, low-cost solutions that enable efficiency, improve employee collaboration, and promote a sharing and learning culture. The DKMLS will work to continually grow a thriving data-driven, knowledge-based, learning-based culture. The DKMLS reports to the Chief Global Engagement and Strategy Officer.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Authors, maintains, and communicates Pact’s Knowledge Management Philosophies, in cooperation with CGESO and other stakeholders; articulating how utilization of data/information/knowledge can achieve key business objectives and goals.
- Coordinates efforts to mainstream knowledge management/strategy/learning into core Pact activities and processes, including project/program management and new business development.
- Continually maps general data/information/knowledge flows to identify gaps and/or enhancements.
- Builds and maintains internal social capital by working with a broad array of internal stakeholders to help solve local, as well as more global, data/knowledge challenges, and identify strategic learning opportunities.
- Works with CGESO and a broad array of stakeholders to craft, implement and evolve a strategic framework within Pact to develop, manage and help evolve Pact’s culture to focus on learning and utilization of knowledge to achieve greater organizational impact.
- Works with CGESO and Pact IT Leadership and staff to assess the nexus of data/information/knowledge with current technology investments as well as to lead on developing consensus around strategic considerations for potential future IT investments.
- Manages Pact social collaboration platform (powered by Jive) and provides strategic and operational leadership drawing on best practices and current business needs.
- Explores and establishes frameworks on how data/information/knowledge might be effectively shared externally, as well as internally.
- Explores and establishes external partnerships to progress Pact’s overall KMLS strategy and culture.
- Works with CGESO and a broad array of stakeholders to discern implement and evolve a set of reasonable metrics so that the KM team and initiative can be held accountable to Senior Pact Leadership.
- Works with CGESO to develop an internal budget for the KMLS initiative and manage to that budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a related field
- Proven experience designing and implementing strategic initiatives
- Proven ability to work independently and with resourcefulness in a limited-budget, limited administrative-support environment.
- 8+ years of experience working in organizational change management; information systems; and/or knowledge management/strategy
- 5+ years of experience working in international development organization
- Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other language
