Duties and Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Client Acquisition
- Lead fundraising and client acquisition for Candide Group, with a focus on large family offices, foundations, and institutional clients aligned with impact investing.
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients and investors, ensuring steady growth in assets under management across Candide’s advisory platform and investment vehicles for the sake of creating more impact in the world.
- Support fundraising strategy and investor engagement for current and potential future investment vehicles launched under Candide’s four impact verticals.
- Build and steward relationships with key stakeholders including wealth advisors, consultants and mission-aligned networks.
Business Development & Partnership Strategy
- Design and implement a multi-year business development and partnership plan that integrates both advisory client growth and potential fund development.
- Collaborate closely with investment, operations, and communications teams to ensure aligned messaging and effective outreach on behalf of Candide’s advisory and vehicle offerings.
- Lead and manage the RFP process, including opportunity evaluation, drafting responses, coordinating input, and deciding on pursuit strategies.
Strategic Communications & Marketing
- Partner with Candide’s communications team to design and execute a marketing strategy that supports client acquisition and fundraising for both advisory and vehicle initiatives.
- Ensure consistent, compelling messaging across investor presentations, proposals, thought leadership pieces, and events.
- Identify opportunities for Candide to showcase expertise through media, speaking engagements, and partnerships with mission-aligned networks.
- Leverage marketing analytics and feedback to refine outreach strategies and strengthen Candide’s visibility among prospective clients.
Representation & Thought Leadership
- Represent Candide Group at industry events, conferences, and in direct meetings with prospective clients and investors.
- Share insights through thought leadership, presentations, and Candide communications.
Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain detailed potential client pipeline management using CRM systems and provide regular updates on fundraising and client acquisition progress.
- Collaborate with leadership to set goals and track progress against business development and partnership objectives.
Travel may be required (approximately 20-30%).
Qualifications
A Candidate likely to thrive in this role:
- Brings 10+ years of experience in business development, partnership building, fundraising, or client-facing roles within investment management, private funds, or wealth advisory.
- Has a proven track record of raising capital from institutional and private investors (family offices, foundations, endowments, corporates).
- Possesses strong familiarity with the RIA and/or impact investing landscape, with the ability to credibly communicate Candide’s values-driven approach.
- Demonstrates exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to engage senior stakeholders across diverse audiences.
- Is a strategic thinker with the ability to design and execute multi-year business development and partnership plans aligned with firm goals.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in strategic communications, messaging, or marketing strongly preferred.
- Has familiarity with impact investment terms and structures and can speak intelligently about Candide’s impact investment verticals.
- Has familiarity with social change initiatives in alignment with our four verticals of Home and Place, Diverse Allocators and Entrepreneurs, Climate Justice and Employee Ownership, and can speak intelligently to the desired impact of our work.
- Operates effectively in an entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment, comfortable with evolving structures and processes.
- Shows high integrity, professionalism, and discretion in managing investor and client relationships
- Adept in CRM systems, pipeline reporting, and investor communications. Communicates with respect and empathy across diverse perspectives and lived experiences.
Location:
While our team works remotely on a regular basis, onsite meetings in Oakland, California are required from time to time. The preference is for this position to be located in the San Francisco Bay Area however, we are open to other locations nationally if the skill set is compatible.
