Purpose of the position

The Director of Partnerships and Alliances ensures the development of institutional relationships that further BroadReach’s growth objectives and align with its mission. These relationships range from specific, opportunistic business relationships to broad strategic alliances that drive value for the company. The role is global in nature and includes working across all markets and lines of business. The Director of Partnerships and Alliances also drives market development activities and resources to shape and influences the company’s current and target markets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Identify, nurture, and leverage mutually beneficial partnerships and alliances that align to our strategy and help grow the business, deliver successfully for clients, build our brand, and increase our valuation. Activities include conceiving, researching, fostering, and formalizing institutional relationships as needed.
  • Partnerships generally will fall into the following areas:
    • Global strategic (e.g., Microsoft)
    • Market making and influencing (e.g., Africa Health Business, Kyle House)
    • Strategy and market research support (e.g., IDC)
    • System integrator/VAR (e.g., Mint, FEI Systems)
    • Technology and solutions (e.g., RTI, Right Triangle, Access.mobile)
    • Academic (e.g., Duke, Stellenbosch)
  • Manage the market development function, including its outside consultants, within the overall growth function. This function works closely with the marketing communications team and focuses on the following work streams:
    • Promulgate our brands and shape how we are perceived in the markets we are pursuing.
    • Position BroadReach with clients, partners, and other market makers and shapers.
    • Open doors for relationship development and identify new specific business opportunities.
    • Coordinate partnerships and alliances.
    • Coordinate market intelligence research and sharing.
  • Support and contribute to overall strategy for the company across all markets and lines of business, including significant focus on BroadReach’s US healthcare market push and other current and future markets.
  • Participate with teams from R&D, marketing communications, delivery, and other parts of the growth team to devise new offerings, where partnerships are key to extend BroadReach’s value proposition and offerings.
  • Coordinate development of country growth plans.

  • 10 years professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in working and collaborating successfully in teams and across functional groups
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and teams
  • Proven experience building external relationships and formalizing those relationships into partnerships that drive business value
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of international health (with a focus on Africa) and US healthcare markets and the role of digital transformation in driving change
