Job Description

The role
The Australia Indonesia Health Security Partnership (AIHSP) is seeking full-time District Coordinators, who will be based in each of AIHSP’s priority provinces to provide technical assistance and to ensure effective coordination with key district government officials, AIHSP implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders in the respective districts.

This position will report to the Provincial Coordinator and work with the Technical Program Managers and Subnational Activity Coordinators on a day-to-day basis to provide technical advice and oversight on the implementation of AIHSP activities in each target district.

This role will also:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant district government agencies in 1 or 2 districts.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of AIHSP activities in their respective district or districts.
  • Support relevant /district government agencies in program implementation.
  • Coordinate with other Districts Coordinators, to enable a cohesive and strategic approach to AIHSP program implementation.
  • Provide technical backstopping to the District Government and Implementing Partners and assist in building their capacity to ensure quality control in AIHSP Program.
  • Monitor the progress of the districts in implementing AIHSP activities by identifying gaps, resources, and capacities of district stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to the AIHSP Team on implementation of AIHSP activities to enable effective, efficient implementation and replicability of activities.
  • Submission of timely monthly and six-monthly reports outlining key activities; progress in that reporting period; work plan for the following month; challenges faced and recommendations to improve AIHSP’s implementation strategy and maintain implementation quality.

About you
You will be a motivated and proactive District Coordinator with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:

  • A university degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or any other relevant university degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in managing program implementation, preferably in the field of public health, disease surveillance and control, epidemiology, emergency preparedness and response or other relevant fields.
  • Based in Central Java/Yogyakarta/Bali/South Sulawesi/NTT (highly desirable) or willing to be relocated to Central Java/Yogyakarta/Bali/South Sulawesi/NTT for the duration of the program.
  • Sound understanding of the Indonesian Government systems at the national and sub-national levels.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills including dealing both directly and indirectly with government officials and other development partners/stakeholders at various levels.
  • Good English and Indonesian oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess initiative, reliability, and honesty.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively in a diverse, fast-paced environment, and to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with local government officials in Central Java/Yogyakarta/Bali/South Sulawesi/NTT in a similar program, especially in the human or animal health sector, would be highly desirable.

Remuneration
Successful Indonesian nationals will be engaged under a local contract in IDR and will be subject to Indonesian employment regulations and tax obligations.
