Join the UK Delegation to the OECD, representing the UK at the world’s leading forum of likeminded democracies tackling global challenges from economic growth and trade to climate, tech and development.

What You’ll Do (Main Purpose of the Role):

You will support the UK’s engagement across a wide range of OECD work by:

  • Monitoring key OECD policy meetings and outputs, taking notes and producing regular reports for officials in Whitehall and across the FCDO network.
  • Providing logistical and policy support for high-level events, including Ministerial meetings, and official visits. This may involve attending preparatory sessions, organising papers and registrations, drafting briefings, reports and external communication lines.
  • Helping drive forward UK priorities in OECD policy committees (e.g. Trade, Science and Technology, Development Assistance, External Relations, Economic Policy) and in governance bodies such as the Executive Committee and Budget Committee.
  • Tracking relevant media and developments in your areas of work.
  • Identifying opportunities for the UK to benefit from current and future OECD workstreams. Supporting teams with ad-hoc tasks and providing administrative and organisational support to the wider Delegation.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Our ideal candidate shows:

  • Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*);
  • Internship agreement “Convention de stage”;
  • Preferably student of International Relations, International Development, Economics, Trade, Law, Social policy, or Politics;
  • Ability to deliver quickly, and show flexibility in the face of changing priorities or demands;
  • Excellent communication skills, a good understanding of how to document and present information, and good judgement with an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of / interest in public policy, economic diplomacy, and the areas in which the OECD works, but not necessarily acquired in academia;
  • Have a strong motivation to make an impact on diversity and inclusion in society and the workplace, and relevant personal or professional experience;
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong attention to detail, an ability to find creative solutions, and an understanding of when to ask for support/guidance;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect for diversity;
  • Highly organised, flexible with an excellent eye for detail; Happy to engage in a wide range of tasks;
  • Confident user of MS Office.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

Nice to have:

  • Good language skills in French B1/B2 (written and spoken) or the language of any other OECD member;
  • Relevant experience or (vocational) qualifications (whether completed or in progress) in economics, social policy, international relations, or related fields;
  • Good project-management skills.
