The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Specialist will provide technical leadership to strengthen our global ECD program portfolio and enhance program quality on behalf of children in the early years of life. The specialist will play a lead role in promoting early child hood development programming quality and organisational learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Development of evidence based ECD frameworks, project models, technical guidance and development of program design(s) in partnership with select WV experts in education, health and protection.
  • Promote and foster new external relations around ECD in support of improved models, program guidelines and learning.
  • Represent WV in ECD inter-agency venues and contribute regularly to academic-practioner discussions on ECD.
  • Designs an ECD learning/research agenda focused in select countries on project models, refinement of assessment, monitoring and evaluation tools in partnership with academic institutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in early childhood development, education, developmental psychology or social work preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in early childhood development programming with a minimum of 3 years of international field experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally 25-30% of time.
