BMB Mott MacDonald is urgently looking to fill the position of Education Adviser for the project English in Action, Bangladesh
English in Action (EIA) is a nine-year (2008-2017) language education project aiming to work with 25 million people in Bangladesh and develop their English language skills. EIA is being implemented through a partnership between the UK Government and the Government of Bangladesh. The project’s goal is to increase socioeconomic opportunities for Bangladeshi by providing communicative English language. A consortium of partners BMB Mott MacDonald, The Netherlands, The Open University, UK, BBC Media Action, and Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programme (UCEP) and Friends In Village Development in Bangladesh (FIVDB) are closely working together to implement the project activities.
EIA brings innovative ways of learning communicative English to different sectors of the society, including primary and secondary students, teachers and adult learners. The method is classroom based and on the basis of continuous professional development principles. To enhance the quality of learning in schools, EIA is using a combination of existing and new methods, including interactive audio technology, print and ICT based materials while being closely linked with the national curriculum. It is anticipated that based on extensive research evidence, the reach and practice of EIA will gradually be extended to 64,000 teachers over the next three years in collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh.
