Education Consultants – Senior Secondary Education

Cognition Education is seeking expressions of interest from experienced senior secondary educators to join our network of expert consultants supporting the reform of senior secondary education in the Solomon Islands. These are part-time consultancy roles that will require you to work remotely as well as spend up to 2-3 weeks in-country, working with national and international
curriculum developers.

We welcome interest from professionals with recent senior secondary school teaching, and relevant classroom or leadership experience.

Experience in development contexts and in embedding gender equity and climate education within curriculum or teaching practice is highly valued.

We are particularly interested in specialists across the following subject areas:

• English
• Practical English
• Mathematics
• Everyday Mathematics
• Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
• Technologies (Digital, Design, Food & Textile, Industrial, Community Development Technologies)
• Social Sciences (Social Studies, History, Geography, Economics)
• Business Studies
• Agri-business

Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel to the Solomon Islands, including stays of up to 3 weeks in-country
• Recent experience in curriculum development for senior secondary learners (Years 10–12), including syllabi and teaching/learning materials.
• Strong background in seniorsecondary teaching and/or school leadership
• Ability to work effectively both remotely and within an international, multi-disciplinary team
• Experience teaching or supporting diverse groups of learners across culture, language, age, and intellectual ability.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
