Job Description

Project: Technical Assistance for Education and Youth Empowerment in the Northwestern Nigeria (EYEPINN)

In the framework of an EU call for proposal called Technical Assistance to Support the Implementation of Education and Youth Empowerment in North western Nigeria, Ginger SOFRECO is looking key experts to be part of a Technical Assistance Team, which specific objectives include:

  • To strengthen the education sector planning and policy framework implementation
  • To increase access to safe learning environments and improve the quality of teaching and learning for all, with particular attention to participation of girls.

Outputs of the contract comprise: Technical assistance provision, coordination support, support for curriculum development, M&E, communication, policy dialogue of the EU in the education sector, support in data management, review of sector plan.

Three position respectively in Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto for a duration of 880 working days each

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications and skills:

Minimum Requirement

  • Advanced University degree (Masters or PhD) level in Policy Studies, Education, Development Studies, Economics or other related fields;

Preferred Requirement

  • Preferably fluency in the English language, fluency in Hausa an asset.

General professional experience:

Minimum Requirement

  • At least 8 years of post-graduation professional experience in the area of educational management/ administration;

Preferred Requirement

  • Preferably experience with EU funding instruments such as the European Development Fund (EDF) and EU funded development projects.

Specific professional experience

Minimum Requirement:

  • At least 5 years of experience in education-related projects including institutional and policy reviews in developing countries.

Preferred Requirement:

  • Proven experience with management of global education funds and establishment of M&E systems in the Education sector;
  • Proven experience with governance, accountability, civil society (including media and private sector), and gender issues related to the education sector in developing countries and education in emergency and conflict settings. Knowledge of EDF and NDICI regulations and procedures will be an advantage.

Note: Expert will have to provide justification (work certificates or work contracts) for all required experiences listed above and include a precise accounting of the days worked.
