Job Description

  • Involvement of around 8 to 12 person months is envisaged

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide support on the application of screening environmental and social tools;
  • Propose and justify the BP environmental and social categorization and also define the necessary additional studies;
  • Elaboration of the additional environmental and social studies and plans (ESMP. RAP, PMP, EIA, GRM, etc.);
  • Support and manage the implementation of the Environmental and social plans and studies

Qualifications, skills and professional experience

The Environmental and Social Specialist will have a strong experience in environmental and social impact assessment, planning and managing. S/he will have:

Compulsory:

  • University Graduate Degree in one or more relevant fields (environmental science or similar); with strong experience in environmental and social impact assessment;
  • At least 10 years of progressive responsibility in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) including 8 years of experience in design and / or implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Environmental and Social Monitoring Plans;
  • Its desirable to have experience with social and gender integration into program design and operations;

5 years of minimum experience with agriculture infrastructure projects; Experience in the design and / or implementation of Resettlement Action Plans in accordance with World Bank OP 4.12 and IFC PS-5 will be an advantage
