Job Description
The role
We are currently seeking an Environmental Management Specialist. This position supports the Environment Group’s business development activities in Africa and also supports project delivery and management.
Key Responsibilities

Support project delivery by providing technical and project management inputs as needed

Participate in the group’s business development strategizing, planning ,and management
-
Review Request for Proposals and develop winning strategies and plans in consultation with Management
-
Prepare and write high quality winning technical proposals for water, environment, and agricultural projects in Africa Region
-
Coordinate and manage the work of other staff members
-
Support the preparation of financial proposals as needed
-
Support the building of capacity of local and regional staff
-
Review project reports and edit/format/improve the presentation and report quality as needed
Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, natural resources, or environmental management. Masters degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years overall experience and at least 2 years of experience with planning and implementation of international development and engineering projects in developing countries.
- Strong technical knowledge in water, environment, or agricultural infrastructure planning/development/management and excellent desktop research skills to fill knowledge gaps
- Excellent technical writing skills (mandatory)
- Excellent English language skills (mandatory)
- Proficient in use of computer software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc) to produce professional looking documents of international standards
- Able to work with a multi-disciplinary multi-cultural team
- Able to deliver work within tight deadlines and handle heavier work pressure near deadlines
