1. Collect information on a sample of World Bank knowledge products (by researching the web and interviewing the authors).
2. Extract users’ data for web-based knowledge products using mainly Omniture SiteCatalyst (training will be provided, if needed).
3. Merge datasets from a wide range of databases to create a database of knowledge products and their descriptions and a database of their users.
4. Document dataset variables in code books and data management in decision rules files.
5. Analyze the quantitative and qualitative responses to a two-question survey of World Bank staff (about 300 respondents).
6. Assist with the systematic categorization the knowledge products.
7. Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses.
8. Prepare tables, charts, and annexes for the evaluation report.
9. Assist with other project-related tasks, as required.
• Master’s Degree or higher with at least two years of relevant experience • Advanced data management skills using a variety of applications including Excel • Proficient with descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (including Chi-Square, OLS, Logit) using SPSS, Stata and/or SAS • Proficient with qualitative analysis • Systematic, accurate, detail-oriented, and organized • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to request information diplomatically • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Team oriented, flexible, and problem-solver • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
• World Bank experience, notably familiarity with its knowledge and learning products • Proficient with Omniture SiteCatalyst
The tasks described above relate to an assessment of the links between the World Bank’s Knowledge and Learning opportunities available to its staff and its business priorities. A consultant is sought between now and 29 June 2007 to identify the learning and knowledge products available to World Bank staff and assess their use.
Funding Source: The World Bank intends to finance the assignment/services described below under a trust fund from the World Bank Administrative Fund.
