The Union is seeking an Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, who will provide leadership in setting direction for the organization guided by its mission and values, which are at the core of The Union’s unique position as the only truly global, independent, membership organization committed to ending tuberculosis and improving lung health. This ambitious role is one of significant breadth and influence, combining effective operational coordination, strategic vision and leadership at an exciting and key moment for the organization, as it seeks to build healthy structures and culture, strengthen long-term viability and sustainability, develop its profile as a thought leader and scientific leader in the field, and ensure the fulfilment of its mandate of playing a leading role in influencing global policies in their key focus areas: tuberculosis, lung health and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), safe air, and tobacco control.

The Executive Director will be an inclusive, bold and passionate individual bringing credibility in several of the content domains in which The Union operates to build on the successes of The Union to date. You will bring a track record of strategic leadership and operational management experience gained in global and complex organizations. You will have significant interpersonal and relationship building skills to establish and maintain strong partnerships and to engage stakeholders across The Union and facilitate the work of a diverse membership. You will bring external representation skills to be a compelling ambassador on behalf of The Union as well as the ability to engage and operate effectively at the highest policy and political levels. Most importantly, you will bring a deep passion and energy towards The Union’s vision and mission and a demonstrated commitment to creating a healthier world for all, free of tuberculosis and lung disease.

The position is remote, with regular travel to Paris and Geneva required. Additional travel to project locations, including Myanmar, Africa and the UK is expected, in addition to the United States.

The salary is commensurate with the seniority of the position.
