About the Organization

FXB Global Overview:

FXB Global is a non-governmental organization
headquartered in Switzerland with a mission to enhance the social and economic
capacities of vulnerable communities. Established in 1989 by Albina du
Boisrouvray to honor the memory of her son Francois Xavier Bagnoud, who
tragically lost his life while on a helicopter rescue mission in 1986, the
organization’s mission is to perpetuate the values, generosity, and compassion
that guided Francois’ life, focusing on the protection of children. Through its
many and varied programs around the world and through its pioneering approach
of giving money over its three-year programs that develop economic
self-sufficiency rather than providing seed loans, FXB’s focus is on the
“forgotten issues of forgotten people in forgotten places.” It is dedicated to
lifting families and individuals out of poverty through sustainable and
comprehensive interventions that empower people with the resources and skills
required. With the increasing impact of climate change on poor communities, FXB
integrates climate resilience into its poverty reduction programs.

FXB Global is run as one team sharing expertise where
needed among its three offices of FXB Switzerland, FXB France and FXB USA. It
also includes the community life in the Valais in Switzerland and is associated
with three affiliated university centers in the United States established by
Albina du Boisrouvray, Founder and President Emerita of FXB Global: The FXB
Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard, The FXB Center at Rutgers and
The FXB Flight Vehicle Institute at the University of Michigan.

About FXB USA:

FXB USA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization based
in New York. It leads the development and implementation of the FXB Global
climate resilience strategy and manages the innovative FXB Climate Advocates
Program, which leverages FXB’s 35 years of impactful work to empower youth
around the world to implement climate solutions in their own communities and
beyond. FXB USA is also focused on advocacy, communication, fundraising,
and partnership building on behalf of FXB Global, program development in the Americas,
and organizational liaison with the three FXB university centers in the United
States.
