Program Overview

Abt PNG Management Services supports the PNG Australia Governance Partnership which aims to contribute to security, stability, basic service delivery and inclusive growth for all Papua New Guineans. The Facility is responsible for the design and implementation of the majority of Australia’s governance portfolio under the strategic direction and oversight of the Australian and PNG Governments. Bringing governance activities under one umbrella, the Facility allows for greater coherence between, and consolidation of, individual activities, effective gender mainstreaming, smarter administrative, contracting and management processes, and improved knowledge sharing and actions on lessons learned across the governance portfolio.

There are seven Partnerships that the Facility supports, each with their own governance arrangements:

  • Public Sector Leadership and Reform (PSLR)
  • Decentralisation and Citizen Participation (DCP)
  • Economic Governance and Inclusive Growth (EGIG)
  • Kokoda Initiative
  • Bougainville Partnership
  • PNG Partnership Fund (PPF)
  • Institutional Partnerships Program Deployment Support Services (IPPDSS)

Role Summary – Facilities Management Officer

This role will be responsible for the management, programming and operational delivery of all aspects of facilities maintenance, scheduling and safety of Abt facilities across PNG.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Create, maintain and be accountable for the scheduling of planned maintenance including establishing work orders and period orders with contractors, for all Abt assets and facilities across PNG.
  • Manage unplanned maintenance, repair and recovery for all Abt assets and facilities across PNG as required.
  • Build relationships with landlords and real estate agents to ensure timely and quality maintenance of leased building and facilities to minimize inconvenience caused. Liaise with contractors to ensure understanding of all requirements regarding repair and maintenance requirements for office buildings and its facilities.
  • Ensure financial processes are compliant with Abt Associates financial delegation and approvals process.
  • Ensure tenancy documentation is completed and filed in a timely manner and Asset Inventory forms.
  • Provide the Procurement Team with expert advice in support of building and construction projects.
  • Provide advice and support to the other Programs on building & facilities related matters.
  • Ensure high quality written reports and produced and delivered in a timely manner for Management reporting.
  • Manage compliance requirements in accordance to Abt Associates policies and procedures including incident reporting and accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with Abt Associates HSSE policy and have knowledge of Australian Workplace Health and Safety Legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as directed
