FEMA expects to hire multiple Reservist positions within the next 30-45 days This announcement is to establish interested candidate pools for future employment. This is not a formal job announcement but a call for interested FEMA local hire employees to submit a resume. Reservist employees are eager to assist disaster survivors and first responders on an on-call basis. They are the main FEMA workforce during an emergency or disaster. Reservists travel, receive training, build professional networks, and support those in need. When you become a reservist, you should know:
1) The work is intermittent, and applicants must commit to working on an on-call basis
2) Be available to travel within 24-48 hours’ notice
3) Work will be for 30 or more days at a time

LOGISTICS
Logistics positions support disaster in many ways. Here are some of the types of duties associated with our positions: 1) Reviewing and submitting requests for supplies, equipment, personnel, teams, services, transportation or commodities; 2) Ensuring warehouse storage and material handling equipment requirements are identified and met; 3) Understanding and managing supply chain distribution of needed assets to support disaster.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Environmental protection positions have duties that include: 1) Coordinate with FEMA partner agencies in the areas of environmental compliance and preservation of historic and cultural resources; 2) Develop and maintain relationships with State, Tribal, and Federal resource agencies, and private sector organizations, in order to coordinate compliance issues and disseminate technical information; 3) Identifying historic resource considerations in a Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act. Spend Plan Coordinator
Support the national disaster relief fund (DRF) spend plan process. Perform financial and accounting technician work including reviewing and processing financial actions. Reviews reports, analyzes changes, monitors accuracy, conducts trend analysis, and develops
comparative reports for assigned field and Regional Offices. Monitors Spend Plan burn rates and performs monthly data analysis of projections and spend plan submissions to support status of funds reporting for assigned field and Regional Offices.
Salary is $14-$43/hr.
Geospatial Data Analytics Cell (GDAC) Analyst
Supports on all recovery geospatial and data issues as they relate to the disaster recovery field operations. Applies analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and implement effective solutions to the recovery mission. Produces maps and data products expressing the results of analytical processes using ESRI products, Excel, PowerBI or Tableau, as well as Python, R, SQL or other programming languages. Coordinates GIS and data activities associated with NDRS with internal and external partners. Coordinates data requests with the Recovery Analytics Division for the disaster.
Salary starts at $21/hr.
National Disaster Recovery Support Specialist
Responsible for support activities for the staff of the Recovery Coordination mission. Submits requirement requests to Logistics management to acquire required resources, space supplies, equipment, and IT services for support staff as directed in the Joint Field Office (JFO).Organizes and maintains a unit Information Management system that enables NDRS staff’s ability to collaborate and work effectively and to track operational events and activities. Executes a communications plan with external and internal stakeholders and draft public information and communications newsletters and reports.
Salary is $14-$41/hr.
Safety Advisor Trainee/Qualify SAAD
Provides safety and health technical input on Field Operations safety, occupational health, life safety, and fire protection issues and concerns. Performs Job Hazard Analysis and/or Disaster Hazard Assessment Plan, investigates and oversees the resolution of indoor air quality complaints, chemical and physical hazard complaints, work-related accidents, illnesses, and injuries for employees, contractors and visitors on-site or while offsite locations, and analyzes data to determine trends, identify causes, and re-direct program priorities. Reviews engineering and pre-construction plans, renovation plans, building/maintenance schedules and contracts to ensure construction projects do not affect occupant safety and occupational health.
Salary is $14-$41/hr.
