Job Description

Purpose of the Job

The aim of this position is to assist in overseeing Not Alone program implementation in Beni Suef, Ahnasia, Wasta, Nasser , Beba and Somesta) and the work of the volunteer representatives in fulfillment of the organization’s stated goals and policies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Implement and deliver Coptic Orphans established programs within the agreed budget and in light of the relevant policies and plans
  • Determine eligibility of the nominated volunteer representatives
  • Review and determine the eligibility of children cases submitted by the representatives
  • Conduct volunteer representative orientations
  • Review and audit expense reports submitted by volunteer representatives
  • Prepare and submit the assigned area’s monthly report to the Area Manager
  • Monitor field implementation by conducting regular home visits
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to volunteer representatives
  • Assist in planning, conducting and arranging for workshops/meetings with representatives, children and mothers
  • Maintain effective communication with the Area Manager and Cairo and Washington DC offices
  • Attend staff meeting in Cairo office. Attend, and prepare for the representatives meetings (semi-annual, local and combined meetings) in the assigned area
  • Responsible for logistics management, which includes the preparation and planning of sponsors’ visits to their children
  • Prepare and submit trip reports, expenses reports and other required documents
  • Follow up with the administrative staff on requests for letters, pictures, and family reports needed for sponsors
  • Perform other relevant duties and tasks as assigned by the direct manager

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor degree
  • Fluent in Arabic with good English skills
  • Experience with Microsoft office, internet and email
  • One year of experience in the nonprofit field or international development is preferred.
  • Able to assess social situations and act tactfully and responsibly
  • Able to administer available resources to reach the program’s goals
  • Stress-resilient to cope with complex conditions
  • Self-starter, motivated and team player
  • Must have the children’s interest at heart
  • Experience working with the Coptic community is preferred
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Good presentation and training skills are preferred

Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, etc.)

  • Travel may reach up to 80% of the time
  • Work involves a substantial level of local travel
  • Typical field environment including walking, sitting, typing, using public transportation, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage
  • Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required
