SUMMARY OF POSITION
IREX seeks a full-time Field Operations Coordinator for the Washington, DC, headquarters office. The Field Operations Coordinator performs a variety of operational, administrative, and financial tasks, and works closely with the Field Operations Manager. The Field Operations unit provides strategic day-to-day operations, personnel, finance, legal, and security support to more than 20 IREX international offices.

Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the Field Operations unit on improving overseas operational systems, processes and policies
  • Extensive communication with field staff
  • Provide operational support to overseas technical and administrative staff for a portfolio of offices
  • Assist with development and review of documents, budgets, financial reports, and operational tools
  • Create, maintain and update field information records
  • Provide back-up to Field Operations Manager
  • Ensure compliance with organization, donor, and local country regulations
  • Coordinate international office registrations and other legal issues
  • Provide operations training/orientation to staff
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must be very well organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, skilled at handling multiple tasks, and committed to adhering to deadlines.

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • At least 2 years experience in international administration and financial management (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Russian, French or other local language (strongly preferred)
