Amnesty International seeks a Finance and Office Manager in our Southern Africa Regional Office.
ABOUT YOU:
As an experienced finance manager and leader, you will have proven experience of applying good practice in financial controls, preferably in an international environment, with the ability to implement strong finance policies, systems, and processes.
In your role as Finance and Office Manager, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to provide comprehensive organisational services including finance, business processes, administration, human resources, and facility management. You will maintain an accurate balance sheet and coordinate the production of financial reports and statutory accounts – investigating variances and verifying calculations where necessary. You will play a key role in the management, initiation and development of fundraising initiatives, and will lead budget planning, review and forecasting activities according to the Southern Africa Regional Office’s strategic priorities. You will be detail-oriented, agile and accountable.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the financial control of the Southern Africa Regional Office’s activities through ensuring implementation of strong finance policies, systems, processes, and ensuring the integrity of the General ledger by reviewing the trial balance and balance sheet reconciliations;
- Ensure the management reporting requirements of the office are met, including accurate and timely monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets;
- Ensure maintenance of office infrastructure including facility management, power management, equipment maintenance and asset management;
- Ensure proper security of the premises and other assets of the organization through outsourced security arrangements and maintenance of current approved security plan;
- Assist the Hub Director to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that pertain to the running of the AI operation, including legal registration and administration, employment and immigration law and including the filing of submissions to the relevant authorities, using appropriate professional advisers and liaising with IS Legal Counsel as
- Work with the People Organizational Development Directorate to ensure the effective use of people management policies and procedures, as appropriate;
- Provide best practice HR advisory service in relation to core people management issues, such as absence and well-being, conduct and capability, performance management, organizational change and the full range of employment and employee relations matters;
