The role
Our financial unit is critical to the success and further growth and impact of the Center. The Financial Assistant will report to the Financial Director and will provide project management support focused on the financial and administrative aspects of the implementation of ongoing contracts and in the development of new projects. We highly value and appreciate initiative and leadership in spotting and developing new financial solutions that would help meet our ambitious growth targets.
The position provides opportunities for professional development in an international setting.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and expenditure reports on projects.
- Tracking project expenditures and monitoring project implementation.
- Supporting the preparation of audit documentation and participating in expenditure verification.
- Maintaing accurate financial records, including timesheets of work accomplished by project staff.
- Assisting in the development of project budgets in line with the rules of various EU-supported programs or of other funding organisations/ donors.
- Handling a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Minimum skills required
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in the field of Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, in particular excellent Excel spreadsheet knowledge.
- Fluent command of written and spoken English and Bulgarian.
- Understanding of the non-profit sector will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently to meet deadlines.
