Finance Director
This is an exciting opportunity to join Health Improvement Project Zanzibar (HIPZ) as Finance Director, leading and coordinating all aspects of financial management across our operations in both Zanzibar and the UK. The role, based in Zanzibar, will replace the current UK-based Finance Director and work closely with our experienced Finance Team, Treasurer, and CEO.
HIPZ is a registered charity in both the UK and Zanzibar. Our mission is to enable access to quality healthcare for all people in Zanzibar. Since 2007, HIPZ is strengthening the healthcare system in partnership with the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. We are a dynamic, high-impact organisation with a strong track record of delivering results.
We are seeking a motivated and strategic Finance Director with robust technical skills, excellent project management abilities, and strong financial oversight experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in the senior leadership team and support the Board of Trustees through effective financial planning, reporting, and management. The successful applicant must be able to oversee all UK as well as Zanzibar accounting requirements.
Essential requirements are to be Qualified ACA, ACMA, ACCA, NBAA or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience working with an international charity/not for profit. The successful candidate must have a sound knowledge and experience of leading and managing the audit process, hands-on the experience of working across countries with Xero (preferably) or a similar accounting package, and a thorough practical up-to-date understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
