Job Description

Summary:

The Financial Analyst position reports to the Director, Budgeting and Pricing, with dotted line reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The role supports the corporate budget planning efforts of the organization, as well as corporate budget maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze actual and projected expenses against direct program costs to predict annual overhead rate for effective management of IRD resources;
  • Collaborate with International Finance Managers and Program Development to determine revenue pipeline;
  • Track actual program revenue and projected program revenue for current year and for 2-5 years in the future;
  • Incorporate new business projections to develop total revenue pipeline 2-3 years into future;
  • Use trend and Management Budget to develop monthly projections for overhead expenses;
  • Develop monthly projection of both direct and overhead costs for presentation to the IRD Board of Directors;
  • Maintain Annual Corporate Budget;
  • Prepare annual budget for approval of IRD Board of Directors;
  • Create and maintain Management Budget which incorporates changes from Approved Budget
  • Update budget monthly to incorporate actual costs;
  • Work with Program Development and operations team to develop overhead budgets for country offices as needed;
  • Maintain worksheet of new hires, internal transfers, modification to the overall budget;
  • Report Overhead expenses to CFO, and as appropriate, Chiefs and Sector Directors;
  • Provide analysis as to spending versus targets;
  • Develop HQ labor analysis and compare actual project labor with budgeted labor;
  • Assist Chiefs and Sector Directors to develop annual budget projections and to do quarterly spending forecasts;
  • Collaborate with International Finance Managers and BD to keep up-to-date projections of direct costs for calculating projected overhead rate;

Required Skills & Experience:

MBA Preferred in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with 6+ years related experience.

  • Experience preparing cost proposals for USAID solicitations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Excel

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of government assistance/contracting and USAID rules and regulations desirable (A-110, A-122, A133, and 22 CFR 226).
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint software and Cognos Report Writer.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 15%
