Job Description


The ABA Rule of Law Initiative seeks a Dutch national Financial and Office Manager for its programming based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The ideal candidate will be based in Amsterdam, with some travel to other destinations in Europe.


  • Maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, and executing clerical functions.
  • Manage financial accounting system in accordance with ABA ROLI’s Field Financial Operations Manual, and other pertinent guidance.
  • Produce necessary financial reports, including monthly expense reports in QuickBooks and Excel, monthly cash forecasting, and monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Ensure office, finance and procurement compliance with all ABA and USG Grant funding reporting requirements.
  • Monitor contracts and procurement to ensure compliance with all contractually required financial reporting.
  • Manage compliance with lосаl tax and accounting laws.
  • Ensure office financial obligations are paid in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with ABA and ABA ROLI finance personnel in Washington DC.
  • Assist with event planning, design and production.
  • Attend off-site events to ensure smooth implementation of activities and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event day.
  • Advise the Program Director on all office logistical, administrative and financial matters.
  • Any other relevant duties as determined by the Program Director to be necessary to the position.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management & administration, commerce or finance.
  • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures
  • At least five years of financial management experience within an international non-governmental organization (INGOs) at various levels of responsibility, preferably with INGOs working with budgets from multiple donors.
  • Extensive experience with financial management software and accounting spreadsheets, including QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
  • Experience working for аn international organization;
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills as all financial Organized, detail oriented, professional, efficient, ethical, responsible, trustworthy, personable, flexible, have strong communication skills;
  • reporting, training provided and forms utilized are in English;
  • Knowledge of USG regulations, predominately 2 CFR 200 desired


  • Ability to use discretion when working with confidential documents and information;
  • Ability to complete work through to the end, and be able to multi-task and work in a high stress environment;
  • Willingness to travel within the country or outside of country for implementation of different projects and goals of the organization.
